ABOUT ABOUT

Traditional Irish Music on Uilleann Pipes and Fiddle

Emmett was born in London and was taught at the London Pipers Club at the Irish Centre in Camden, with great encouragement from his parents.  His solo cd, The Mountain Groves, was recorded in 2007 at his family home in Cloghbrack, Co. Galway by John Blake. This cd is available through Na Píobairí Uilleann (www.pipers.ie).  Emmett has a great interest in Irish music from the 78 rpm era and with Gerry Clarke has produced three recordings of Irish music from the 1920's to 40's on the Oldtime Records label. Their fourth release a collection of recordings of P.J. Conlon is due in late 2012.

Jesse comes from Baltimore MD. He learned his music from fiddle player Brendan Mulvihill and also from his mother Donna Long. He has a number of recordings. They include a solo album, The Tap Room Trio with Harry Bradley and John Blake, The Ewe with the Crooked Horn with Colm Gannon and John Blake, and the album Think before you think, with the band Danu.

Doors open at 6:30.  Guinness on tap and snacks will be available for purchase, with proceeds going to the Cato Food Pantry.
